TREATMENT: Pigeons commonly nest and night roost in warehouses and factories. Provided there is no food source present, it is sufficient to treat the nests and the night roosts.
As long as the pigeons are excluded from these core habitats they will abandon the site. It is not necessary to treat all the beams or other surfaces on which the pigeons sit during the day.
Pigeon nests were removed from the corners of the ledges behind this roller shutter door. Dishes of Bird Free were fitted into the corners at 15cm centres to prevent further nesting, and at 25cm centres to all other surfaces behind the door.
The beams under the roof were treated with dishes of Bird Free at 20cm centres.
PRICING THE JOB: This example shows treatment required for nests and night roosts. The calculation of the number of Bird Free dishes required for the job is as follows:
Nests: no of linear metres x 7 (at 15cm centres) + Night roosts: no of linear metres x 5 (at 20cm centres)
RESULTS: After the nests and night roosts were treated with Bird Free the pigeons did not return. The surfaces where the pigeons roosted in the daytime were not treated.
